Good powerwasher for my car?
nilfisk are alright, i've had mone two years but the seals inside are failing already.
keeps switching on and off when trigger not pressed, sometimes it needs a kick up the arse to work properly without surging.
not sure i'd get a c120 again, i reckon i'd spend more and get a much better model, otherwise a good unit.

I bought a karcher. Ł220 and its bang on. And a 10m hose.
My old Clarke one infuriated me as it was a 5m hose and couldn't get all way round car with out moving the actual power washer

The nilfisks are the best in the Ł60 price range, they have better internals than others for the money.
They do need a replacment hose as the hoses kink/split very easy, and they are not long enough to go round a moped never mind a car

Have the Karcher 120 with all the gadgets. Give it a couple of years & many of the 120 bars will be missing. Not good for hard use im afraid. Also have a Wickes 160 bar very good alround tool but extras are just that extra but its worth it. You wont get anything to last at that Ł100 price level its false ecconomy measured over 5 years.
Oops just realised im in the Concours area. Was thinking of a Power washer for the garden etc
. Mine would probably blow the car away.
I use a Bucket & Sponge on the car.
Sorry Rod

my nilfisk c.120 has died, the pump won't stop surging now, so off to get one of the wickes 160BAR ones, see if they are any good, basically a lavor one with a cheaper made plastic outer casing.
i'll have to keep the nozzle a bit further away from the paintwork, but should help mix the snow foam up better.

well that was a waste of time, they don;t do them anymore, their systems show them in stock, but obviously not great at keeping track of their items.
back to a nilfisk i think, get another and see how i go, not wanting to spend big money right now on a properly good unit.

Like I said above mate I'm on my third C120 and it is pulsing again. I don't even use it hard and without any sympathy for it either always gets emptied and always gets filled before powering up to avoid running dry and doesn't get used for prolonged periods. Just not made well enough. Karcher ones seem to be better put together so I will be going for one of them when this goes.
just realised it's on a 2 year warranty so may get over to machine mart and find out when i bought it and get off to repair centre in the same town.
if i had more money i'd buy the 150 model, but is Ł350.

if money wasn't a concern (i.e. i wanted to spend Ł300 i would go for a karcher HD model)
for Ł60 i can complain at the nilfisk, havent seen any of these pulsing issues though.
i would recomend a longer hose, 15m allows the washer to be located away from the car and allows you to work all the way round without having to move the low pressure hose or pressure washer unit

Lads, if its pulsing it could be a couple of things, one being an air leak so if it has a chemical tank and the chemical mix is turned on, but the tank it empty then it will be sucking in air, so check that tehre is something in the tank, or the valve is closed. could also be a split hose so have a little look.
if its deffo not that then it most likely the seals. these are basically o rings!
there most likely be about 6 in total, 3 bigger seals on the pump head, and 3 smaller diameter but thicker piston seals.
whip the pump head off, about 8x 5mm cap head screws, pull pump head off, might need a tap to start it.
once the head is off there are probably 3 brass inserts, you will see the piston seals inside these, if they are damaged then thats your problem. very carefully prise them out the pump head without damaging them and remove the seals, take them to your local place that sells them, and they will probably be lees than a couple of quid, so buy double!
also check the pistons as some ceramic ones can crack, if they do then it may be difficult to get replacement ones but check the model number on google, you might be surprised!
yes, i used to repair pressure washers lol.
i myself have a sibitec, its 160bar and will tear you a new asshole lol.
but the gun has broke, it had water in it and it froze last year and cracked it apart!
i just need a new gun and lance, but for the price of that, i could buy a karcher lol
most washers pump design is quite similar, so half an hour with the spanners may save your a fair few ŁŁŁŁŁ

That will be after the pump mate, so no. you may just have a slight reduction in power.
how does the hose fit onto the gun? if its a taper fitting undo it and wrap some ptfe around the threads.
