Which Focus do you have?

Fuel pump may have died.

Check the electrical pin on top of your fuel sender/pump.

My mam n dad had a 51reg 1.6 16v focus that did this.Dropped the tank down and found the pin corroed and snapped off.

If you can put a current meter in circuit you can see what is going on. my walbro escort cosworth in-tank pump draws 4.7 amps.

you can get these meters from Maplin for Ł10.

if the immobiliser has cut in it won't crank at all so i don't think it will be that. Get someone to give the bottom of the tank a good hard thump while turning it over.

There is a red light above the radio this is on while cranking , it flashes when the central locking has been set. Will check to see if there is any power to the pump when cranking later.

Were in the footwell is the switch n/s or o/s ?
