in a word, 'no'

The block is different, the escort being rwd mounts on the sides of the block, the fiesta mounts on a cradle and beside the thermostat housing.

When you do eventually find a fiesta xr2 xflow, you will need the xr2 crossmember and driveshafts also as the 1.6 711m xflow is about an inch longer than the 0.9/1.1 Valencia engine you have.

the internals will fit into an xr2 xlow. If you want to buy the engine you can get an xr2 xflow block for probably less than Ł40.

is the escort engine longer then the xr2 711 engine? or is it just because its missing the mount by the thermostat?

The head will be worth having and should fit and if race spec should be big valve but make sure it is a late engine with a flat head or will mess up compression ratio also it may have the unleaded seats which would be a bonus even the xr2 x-flow will be for leaded may save some money in long run

Its the crank thats different. A shorter one was used in a fwd Kent engine so it would fit between the chassis rails.
