Default Is moonstone blue an easy colour to match?

looking to paint a few bits around the car like bumpers and grill, side skirts etc

Just wanted to know if people who have done this have had to paint other surrounding panels to blend it in and if it was a pain?

The colour might of faded so it might be a bit harder to do.You might have to blend the colour into the panels your painting.

Yeah it was a pain from memory, not that exact colour but Citroen do an almost identical one and we had fun and games with it back then.
If its just bumpers/grille/side skirts I reckon you'll get away with it as they all have gaps between panels as standard and often bumpers and plastics look a touch different anyway.
If it were a door or wing I'd be more concerned that you'll near enough need to blend the whole bloody side!!!!

Where you located , there's 11 shades of moondust silver and mines done edge to edge , if your worried get a company to spray out there different shades and then use the spray outs to check

Any decent paintshop won't have a problem. Just make sure they blend where needed and so on and it will be fine. Just make sure they are a decent paintshop though ay!

UNIT24 in Camberley is worth a look.

Any good paint supplies but be aware that its a pretty futile exercise as you'll need exceptional vision to even notice the difference between the shades plus you'll be paying a few quid out to get 10 shades of colour made up just to spray onto cards and not really endearing yourself to a bodyshop to mix up ten different mixes and lacquer them just for you to decide.
Take a wing mirror off and go to the paintshop itself to decide looking at the colour charts mate.

I'm surprised at the amount people saying Moonstone is a problem! If any paintshop has to ask the customer what shade to use on their car then the thing should clearly not be there as thats just worrying.

Yeah there are a good few shades of Moonstone but there are far far more difficult colours out there to master. Take Ultimate silver on the Nissan GTR for example Ł700 a litre and has to be applied like a chrome effect now that is a colour to worry about not an old 80's Ford colour.

It's being blown way out of proportion get it to a decent paint shop walk away job done.

Sorry lads but had to be said, to many threads like this just end up causing more worry than they ever need to.

Agreed. You shouldn't have any issue with a decent painter.

I had a rs500 bumper painted for my moonstone car and just took the grill to the body shop for comparison and it was painted no problem, I have also painted a few bits myself and haven't had issue with blending the metallic, I actually thought it was easy to apply and blend and I am an amateur painter. Any body shop that knows what they are doing should match it.
