Angry problem with clutch in new ecoboost 1ltr

Have recently bought the new focus with ecoboost 1 ltr engine, after only 2500 miles got a strong smell of burning clutch, told there was nothing wrong with it by Ford Dealership, they were told by Ford Technical to wash out bell housing to take away smell, got car back but still strong smell of clutch when exiting the car or opening the bonnet, took it back too Ford who diagnosed blue heat spots on the flywheel, car is still at garage awaiting parts to change out clutch and flywheel. Just wondered has anyone had similar problems with this model.

Never saw this problem in 5 years of r+d. Would think it's a faulty pressure plate.

We were meant to make the flywheels for these when I worked at Ford but lost the contract.
Oh dear what a shame.

Unhappy clutch problem on focus ecoboost

Cheers for all the replys, nobody has been resting their foot on the clutch so can discount that, as for it being under warranty Ford have told the dealership "that as nothing is wrong with the car" they will not pay for repair, dealer is having to fund it out of something they call the "Loyalty Program", but I am still quite worried that we might have got a Friday car.

Default problem with clutch in new ecoboost 1ltr

I had the same problem with my new focus ecoboost after only 1000 miles, took it back to dealership who told me it was the way that I had driven and it was down to wear and tear. Complained to Ford who made a so called goodwill gesture and I had to pay Ł100 for clutch to be replaced, still not happy though as smell is still there but not as strong and im still trying to argue it with Ford as this shouldn't happen on a brand new car so I shouldn't have had to pay anything. Am on finance with ford so have told them that will hand car back when its finished and will walk away from them never to return.

You trying to tell me that Ford don't leave a degree of fault finding to the customer.

I have had the same problem but on a Fiesta. Only 1200 miles, and the clutch cooked away in a queue on the motorway and eventually gear selection was lost. It was better after it cooled down and the dealer has said they can't replicate/won't do anything.
