Default How hard to change a Mk2 Mondeo door lock barrel?

My neighbour's having some problems with his 98' Mondeo and is looking to change the door lock for a good used one. How hard are they to swap out. Done loads on Fiesta's Escort's etc but not a Mondeo??

No way it's being fixed the key is totally worn out. The ignition barrel is probably shot too but he just needs it to work really. I think as long as he can lock and unlock it he'll be happy.

make sure you get a good outer handle trim too,

you have to remove this (2x 8mms i think) to get the lock out and they normally snap! dont get caught out as it screws the job right up

you have to remove the inner handle and cable, locking catch and motor in 1 assembley

What's actually the matter with it? My mrs had a mk3 fiesta a few years ago, the key wouldn't work in the lock as it was just too worn. Got a new key cut from the worn one and it was fine again.
