I have been told i ned to prime the oil pump on ma cossie before it goes all back together, how do i do this as it will be going in the car but may not be started for some time, any help would be greatly appreciated???
Can you not just wait untill the engines in the car and remove the dizzy and prime the lot with a drill ? if its going to sit about I dont see the point in priming now.
That sounds like a plan, will that turn the pump with the cam belt in place as i want to build the whole thing before putting in the car as i dont want to be leaning over all my new paint work??
Its not on a stand but i can turn it upside down on the floor?
With the engine upside down and oil pump all fitted
I would remove the sump, pour oil into the pick up pipe (not loads, maybe .5 litres)
And at the same time as slowly pouring ut in, turn the engine over
