Car got delivered on Sat, the car was missing some bits of trim, door handles, front 1/4 glass and bits and bobs.....or so I thought!

Opened the boot to find a small auto-jumble! Most the missing trim plus a few extras.

Seats are pretty tidy and I like the colour, just need a clean and frame rubbing down and painting.

Some of the parts from the boot...

Today I had a bit of a planning day, got some storage unit, had a good clean of my garage and a sort out so that i'd have room for the car and panels with room to move! Due to the garage not having power I picked up a petrol generator to run a drill and angle grinder off. Plan is to do most the body work and prep in this garage then once ready for the welding move it to a workshop down the road and do it all in one hit.

Few photos of the underside

Doesn't look to bad, was expecting worse!

The car has obviously had some work in the past, most parts were pretty solid. I'm a bit of a virgin with cars of this age so what do people think? Tomorrow I plan to start taking back the surface rust and paint to see what's left. Have had a poke about the floors and sills and all feel pretty good.

That's about it for now, hopefully will crack on with the shell tomorrow, sanding back and looking into getting the engine and 'box out.

Any comments, advice or observations/info welcome! One thing I was wondering was where is the battery tray!?!? Has it been removed and where from!?

I will see what companies are down this way, I am in far west Cornwall so bit out in the sticks! Will have a crack by hand first anyway to develop my skills, and in a way I want to do it by hand as much as possible. In no rush so will keep me busy in my spare time!

Stripped the shell of all apart from the rolling gear, had it up on the ramp today down at the workshop, looked pretty good underneath!

Am working panel by panel, first up was drivers floor pan, grinded down, treated and first coat of primer on. I'm not too bothered about a perfect surface finish on the floor as will have carpet in.

Had to have a re shuffel of the garage so car could go in the middle on axle stands

Will hopefully get some photos of the underside on later.

The engine is shot and have never seen the gearbox working. If anyone has a known running and working standard engine and box please drop me a message.

Looks pretty solid, will remove all the orange paint, see that it is good, treat it and paint it with some chassis black paint.

Once I have taken all the suspension, rear axle etc etc off so it is a bare shell, would it be ok to put the shell on its side? Make it easier to do the underside. Or can this distort the shell?

Looks great or the money!

Luckily 100Es seem to suffer less from rust than other, newer models.

What are the plans for it?

I think plans for now are to remove all rust from body and get it treated and primered before I go back to Afghan late Nov. Will make the real plan up for when I get back. May just stick with original engine and keep the car standard/period.

As tempting as it is to go for power I think I'm swaying to keeping her standard!

Its looking good, I can't see how resting it on its side on a couple of old matresses will do it any harm.
