Default Ignition coil help\advice

Had a problem with my ignition coil which i replaced with a genuine Bosch one. This lasted all of 7 weeks so replaced it with another one and this isnt running that well either. My question is: I didnt bother replacing the HT leads or spark plugs, could either of these 2 be causing the premature failure of the ignition coil? My friend said they couldnt because they come after the coil and dont send anything back to it in order to break it. Just another quick question, should replacement HT leads cost £80, it seems excessive to me.
Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec mk2 2005 car by the way.

Thanks in advance

Anyone any ideas? i guess its good practice to change all at the same time so i may do that but does anyone know what the gaps are for the spark plugs on a mk2 focus. i am having a devil of a job finding out on the web.

i had problems with a focus misfiring, diagnostics said coil pack so fitted a new one. still ran poor so fitted ht leads still poor. decided to remove the head as i started to strip it off removed plugs and found a huge plug gap. fitted new plugs and it was fine.
ford recomend silicone grease on the ht lead to plug connector to prevent arcing.

So you recommend putting grease on the HT lead connector that plugs straight in to the coil pack connection? What spark plugs did you use? I think NGK TR5A-10 are the right ones but I have not found anything definitve.
