was agreeing on a car today thats on ebay and close to me (want to break it for extra ££), he turns round and says he only has the green part of the v5 logbook, which is the new keepers supplement. so i cant fill out the old owners address and my new address. does this sound dodgy??

as above do the right checks if its all ok then things should be fine.
Dont they even say on the logbook theses days that its not a proof of ownership only who`s responsible for taxing it?

If you are breaking it and at £250, I wouldnt worry too much, just fill in a v62 and say you didn't receive your v5.
Keep the listing or a print off as proof he was selling it and get a receipt.
For £250 I cant see it being a scam.

I wouldn't have a problem with it but lets be honest rob how much do seriously think its worth if you break and how long are you going to be stuck with a load of crappy saxo parts lying around
trouble scrapping cars these days too, when you run it in they will want the details for the destruction cert, vin and reg usually but you will have that on the car
chances of them selling a nicked car for 200 quid are not very high, too much risk for very little gain
if they have the keys that would be enough for me
