Iv just bought a 90spec s2 an the shell is bent+rotten, an has had a repair by a cowboy by the looks of it so its for the scrap man now, i was thinking to myself today can you still come by mints shells that havnt been damaged or patched? the reason i ask il prob build another one up end of the this year, but id only build one if i have the money, an could get a mint shell, cheers Andrew

would love johns shell, but as iv told john iv not got the money at the min an could be end year before i could even afford another shell, if i was told what the car was really like before i had bought i wouldnt have the s2 that i have sitting here now an could have got johns

 

Mint shells are becoming few ad far between unfortunately. I have been looking for quite a while with not much luck.

They seem to be snapped up v.quickly. I too have been hankering after maxwells shell but with travel costs and time it is a bit of a stretch for me also. Very nice looking shell though none the less.

I was left in a similar situation to the op with a pretty rough shell that had been very cleverly Bodged to look good.

Infancy all the work that went into covering Rot it would have been just as easy/as much work to put it right properly!

Keep an eye out on Irish websites such as donedeal.ie , they do come up now and then and our cars are not as rusty, I have a mint Irish shell that is in primer

 

buy a cabrio, they don't rot

 

I have to agree. I replaced my 90 spec S2 shell with a cabriolet shell and never looked back. They honestly hardly rot at all!

Theres a white 90? s2 shell on gumtree with everything bar back seats, engine and gearbox for £445. doesnt look too bad il find the link and post it up

only costs 25 odd quid for v5 from dvla doesnt it ?
