Lee at Devil Developments has just mapped Alex ST's car after the head lifted at Central Day. You may have seen the car at the show:



Well Lee has just mapped it to 2 BAR on the GTX30 turbo, using M12 head studs and it's made 488 lbft of torque along with 542 bhp!

Is this the highest torque figure for a Zetec now? I know Paul Johnson had more power but can't recall his torque figure?

Mental car anyway, can't wait to see it perfrom.

Dan rolling road's always make the car look leggy, normally by about 1000 rpm, but on the road it ain't laggy at all!

Yep fingers crossed it should pull some decent times, need to spend some money on suspension now I think! Get some custom coilovers made up!

 

Dean - Sure Alex can fill in the blanks but 2.1 Zetec, low comps/steel rods, balanced crank, Pace dry sump set up, ported head, Area Six inlet, Devil Developments manifold, GTX30.76 turbo, KMS management, Airtec intercooler and rad, MTX Focus RS gearbox, AP Racing 6-pots.

No other damage, M12 head stud conversion by Lee and back on the dyno!

It certainly has the power to do so, but i need to learn to launch it properly, and sort out my suspension, i think its set up completely wrong lol.

If he runs it again with the ramp rate set slower on the rollers it will make boost sooner and probably make a little more torque as a result too, might even cross that 500 barrier

Chip, i dont think it needs to go on the rollers any time soon, so im just going to drive it around for a bit and enjoy it, and just upgrade bits and pieces for now. And go to a few rolling road days lol!

Ok fair enough, and how will that effect the power output compared to a set of rollers?

 

It will be more accurate if you want to talk flywheel power as there are no calculated transmission losses.
