Hi everybody, new here and looking for any help and answers.

I have a escort van 55D 1800. non turbo. year 2000 the belt went on it
Now i need another engine. I am having such a headache about this.

In short found someone that had an engine. I have constantly stated that it needs to be a Endura DE. which the garage that will be fitting it have said it needs to be. the people delivered it, but on the rocker cover there was no Endura DE. the fitters said its not a DE and sent it back. they said the engine might go in but they also say I could get problems etc etc
everdently the later year type had DE on the cover. they have now sent 2 engines but both are wrong

The argument with the garage and the supplier isnt really helping.
The garage are saying its no good the suppliers are saying its exactly the same.
the garage are talking about different injection pumps, different this different that.

plus a strange thing is the supplier gave me the engine number, when I spoke to ford to check what it was they said that there is nothing on the data base with that number ( strange me thinks as mine is older ).

Any help please as if I pull anymore hair out I'll be bald.
