Yeah very good piston & rod combo for the money, you wont be disapointed. Not sure on the power my car makes as it was live mapped and not rolling road mapped, will put it on the rollers at some point though. As for management i would say go for what ever your tuner is best working with, i would stay clear of the cheap shit though mate

I brought my pistons & rods from jano @ oddkiddcreations, pretty sure im right in saying he sells them cheaper than anywhere. Theres sadly not to many good tuners around these days mate, lots of bullshit and wankers just after your money. Only one place for me!

Stock pistons are good for 300bhp and the rods around 240/250bhp if you keep the limiter as stock and don't spend your time bouncing off it.
If not then PEC and Wossner are the best value for money IMO, I ran circa 280bhp @ 32psi.
But do not go low comp!! It's a waste of time unless you want over 300bhp and will just cost you response!

The rest of your spec is spot on for 250bhp+ with good mapping.

Management i recommend OFAM...
Its good to know a standard ish engine will cope with circa 230bhp, as thats what i want... I'll knock the limiter down abit 6,300rpm as the cvh has such a massive hit of torque you don't need to rev the tits off it.

Karlos what boost level did you max your 440cc injectors out at?

Well it seems like the pistons and rods are going to be Woosner & Pec.. What other key things would you reccomend when rebuilding the car... Oil pump water pump etc... I was thinking genuine ford for these bits... Unsure on headgasket and bolts..

Any Ideas and tips...?

Cheers

I put a brand new genuine pump on mine when it was rebuilt, but even with the guy at Ford giving me sympathy discount, I think it cost more than the wossner pistons!

As I'm sure everyone is about to say, standard (Payen branded I think) RST headgasket and normal stretch bolts.

It's not at what boost they maxed out at Rog, as boost is relative to the engines VE (it's ability to breathe), it's what power they maxed out at, which was 220bhp...
What I mean by the above is my engine might of flowed enough air for 230bhp @ 19psi but yours may only flow for 200bhp at the same pressure if you see what I mean?
Oh and they were 480cc injectors mate.

Genuine oil and water pump if money allows and as above a genuine Ford HG and stretch bolts or Payen (which is who make the Ford one), proven for over 350bhp.

Oh ic... And was it 19psi that you saw 230bhp with? Im hoping mine should be at least 200bhp @ 18-20psi on the 440cc's with the 48/55 t3 on it.
What can be done to improve the engines VE, headwork and a bigger turbo?

Yes it was but that was on a .36/50...
To improve an engines VE as you have mentioned, headwork, cam, turbo, TB, inlet and exhaust manifolds, anything that has an effect on the way the engine takes in fresh air and then exhuasts it.

Your .48/55 will flow more at any given boost pressure than my .36/50 (it's actually the exhuast housing that changes the VE significantly in this instance), but... if for example you have a stock head then this will reduce your VE (making it harder to push the air through and raising the back pressure AKA boost pressure!) when compared to my NMS/Newman Ł1000 head.

Yeah definatley get yourself down to ford for headgasket, head bolts and oil pump. Get yourself some arp con rod bolts to go with your wossner pistons an pec rods and you've got yourself a sorted engine that will take all the power you can chuck at it. As long as a total spanner isn't building it of corse lol

Stock stretch bolts (Ford or any motor factors) not ARP's mate, again proven for over 350bhp.

I have now got pricing for new gaskets and water pump but looks like the oil pump is on ford back order....

So had a look on burton power, has anyone used either of these pumps...?

Wait for a genuine Ford pump and fit a high pressure spring.

I have ran a Burton HP pump without issue.. But others say they have failed easily so could be a risk.

No need for a new relief valve spring, just shim/pack the one thats already there if you want higher oil pressure.

For reference, if you have a S1 crank (as I do) you need to use an S1 oil pump which is no longer available from ford so an after market pump is the only option IME. Pleased to be corrected if this is wrong?
