Hello all I have just bought a mk3 mondeo Zetec tdci 130 on a 04 plate very happy with it but I'm changing the seats to the ones from the st220 full leather recaros my question is my Zetec seats move forwards and backwards via a hand leaver but from looking at pictures the st220 ones are electric. The Zetec seats are electric hight adjustment but will my car have the loom already there to just plug the 220 seats into so I can adjust them? Also at the min the Zetec seats are not heated unlike the 220 ones so is all that there too the loom into the seats and the loom to the switches?????
Thanks in advance, shanti

Hi,
I did the same seat swap in my Titanium X. As long as both your front seats have power height adjust, the 8 way recaro adjustment will plug straight in. This is of course as long as the Recaros you have brought are from a facelift ST220, 2004-2007 i think. They need to be from the same type of car as yours, facelift or not facelift.
Have you got the heated seat switch? If you pull out the blank where the switch goes in your facia, there should be a wire attached to it. You will need to buy the switch surround (if you didn't get it with the switch) and the heated seat relay.
The relay fits into a holder that will be taped up behind the glovebox.
Everything should then work.
Good luck,
Nick

After I put the Recaro's in my car (both Facelift), I put my old half leather seats into my mums non facelift MK3 Mondeo Ghia.
Her non facelift front passenger seat had a load sensor on the seat cusion which told the ecu whether anyone was sitting in the passenger seat for the airbag system.
The drivers seat had an extra bracket with a sensor on to tell the ecu how far forward or back the seat was positioned. Again, for the airbag system I think.
It just made the job a lot longer as I had to take bits from out of the old seats and fit them in the new ones.
Thinking about it, you should be ok with an 04 car as I think your car doesn't have the extra sensors to worry about.
I would still try and buy a facelift ST220 interior tho, just to be on the safe side.
Regards,
Nick
