xflow sump fitment

Default xflow sump fitment

wondering could anybody help me out does a 1300 x flow sump fit on to 1600 x flow engine?

Yes it will, the only difference between the two is the rods and slightly different pistons iirc.

ah rite cause ive been told 1300 fit but it has to be dished down bit more or the crank can rub cause it not as deep as the 1600 one any truth in that? lol

The 1600 block is slightly taller than the 1300 but the sumps are the same mounting pattern and interchangeable. If you are using a front sumped engine from a Cortina and fitting a sump from an Escort you will also have to change the pick-up pipe and the dipstick position, but thats easy done.

yes u do after dish a 1300 sump out slightly best thing to do is fit sump dry with out gasket turn engine over by hand then u will see marks where crank catches take off dish out refit jod done

a 1300 would have to be modified to fit because the bigend bolts will foul the side of a 1300 sump. if you look at the side of a 1600 sump you will see small bumps outwards for clearance.best solution buy a 1600 off fleabay or else get a hammer and dolly out and start hammering.
