OK lads I've just taken out insurance with Brentacre (awesome service from Gary
) but my car is insured for £3800. However, when new mine was £24500 which was more than the Racing Puma, which was out at the same time. However, the Puma is selling more at £5500 to £6000 for decent, low milers. My car has 76000 on it now on a 2000/W plate.
Should I be valuing it nearer the Puma prices or around where it is? I can post pics and spec if needed.
Am only asking as I was considering Agreed Value on my policy.

Mountune spec engine with turbo conversion

Rear end

Front and side

Pic from original sales brochure

Original bill of sale showing T190 conversion

Close up of bodywork (very clean for age)

And for giggles one of my lass with it

Last pic shows it with tinted indicators and silver mesh. Now has the clear indicators and black mesh shown in 2nd pic
This is the spec I've managed to find out so far-

Tbh I remember those coming out and no offence they never looked anything more than a aftermarket dealer special whereas were it given a proper engine the racing puma would,IMO have become possibly the best car of it's era, great looks, exceptional handling and rarity.
New costs mean nothing, there's £50000 audi's out there newer than yours now only worth £800.
TBH you'll get paid out what it's worth, substantially more than a standard focus of course but not focus Rs money,to me £3800 is strong and unless that's agreed value Brentacre's underwriters won't be giving you anything near that, theyll see it as I did, nothing more than a dealer special 12 year old focus.
Like I said, sorry if it sounds derogatory as I can see you've cared for the car and it's far better than anything I'm driving right now, just trying to be realistic.

Cheers lads. Prefer an honest straight answer anyway so both what I was looking for. I'll contact Brentacre and see if they can speak to underwriters and see where they put it valued for agreed valuation and see where things go from there. I wouldn't have put it in RS territory (£7000+) but I was thinking somewhere in the middle of ST170 prices and the racing Puma prices. So between the £3500 and £5500 ball park.
Agree it's not the best looking Focus ever but it does look better in the flesh and it's grown on me
