Default New Car Time 5k what to buy???(not as easy as you think)

Hi Guys

well its gonna be new car time very soon, but am really struggling with what to buy.

Ive compiled a list of the cars ive been thinking of.

audi a3 1.8t quattro or S3

Celeica gt4 st185

Imperza sti (classic)

Escort Rs Turbo s2

I do not fancy a bmw as i had an e36 318 and it was "lame" and i wouldnt want to get a 325/328 as i want turbo power.

skylines are out as insurance is too high

evos are out as thats more to insure than a r32 gtr

impreza is quite a bit more than id like to pay on insurance and theyre common, see them everywhere now.

I though id settled on the s3 but have heard even with mods they are "boring" as in they dont really thrill you.

I like the raw power feel cars,i had a cammed mk2 golf gti 8v with other mods and an Escort rs turbo s2 was my 2nd to last car ive owned.

i loved it but it needed a new roof and more, thread should be kicking around on here somewhere.
and if i went back it would have to be an efi engine,so it makes finding the right one harder and costs for the conversion etc if its an mfi.

Any other cars anyone can think of,

mo more than £5500 and not a cossie as i cant insure it and not a focus rs,i dont like em lol

Look forward to your comments

E36 M3? Gotto be slightly better than the 318 you drove

thought about ibiza turbo but fwd and not too keen on the styling although il say they look to be good bang for buck.

mitsi gto twin turbo but just a nightmare to do anything on,drove the na 220bhp and it was "pleasurable" again this ios high insurance figures.

Could you get a Seat Leon cupra mk2 (new shape) for that money? Say a 55/56 plate?

You can insure a cossy on a classic policy ! Should make it alot cheaper than any modern alternatives ! My last one cost around £300 with 330hp an all mods declared

The engine in an M3 is nothing like your "regular" NA 3.0

But one other car that would fit the bill and should be cheaper on insurance than most turbo Jap stuff would be an S14 200sx. Should get a nice one with a fair bit of change. Maybe £1500 of change, say, which could pay for insurance.
