Default Anyone here use linux??

Anyone on here run linux? Im now gonna attempt a dual boot system with XP and Linux. Just wondered if anyone else had any experience with it, apparently its sposed to be extremely stable and security is stronger than Microsofts. Ill be sorted with the install shortly so i ll post back and let u know how i get on.

Good OS, very good actually.

But absolutley nails to use. Alot of stuff you have to compile yourself etc...

No nice easy to use install programs like windows.

I would personally put it onto another drive then modify your boot.ini that way if the install goes belly up it wont mess up XP. is a brilliant stable OS but I would us one with a decent User interface.

Ive just finished installing it, ive used one called Mandrake which ive been told is the easiest one to use. Ive got 2 HD's, a 60gb and a 250gb. Ive got XP on the 60gb and ive just installed linux on the 250gb which i thought was probly best. It all seems to have worked ok and i can still use XP with no problems (as i am doing at the minute) but now i cant see the 250gb drive in the My Computer folder, and when i try and boot up into linux it goes through a little bit of dos and then stops with the final line starting as "Kernal Panic...." it wont go any further. It created a partition in the selected HD during install and i dont know whether that might be the cause. Anyone got any clues to where i might be going wrong?
