Default Home made exhaust?

My brother is starting to make his own 3"bore exhaust for his s2 and would like to fit a centre box to try and keep it a bit quieter.
Would this affect the performance of his car by fitting the box?

Where can you buy the silencers from?

Has anyone got any pics they can post of there home made exhausts?

Magnaflow make a wide range of silencers shapes and sizes etc and not too badly priced. I think it's Nemesis in the UK who keep stocks.

Certainly a 3" system is adequate for 5-600bhp, so cant see it posing a problem on an RS Turbo.

Although I'd query why he wants so big ? 2.5" will be quieter and should be adequate.

i found a local stainless supplier for the pipes and mandrel bends, qand powerflow/mjexhausts for the silencers, all 3" doesn't seem to be any restrictions on my zetec turbo in my xr2.
this is a pic of mine i made up, cost around £300 with flexy and v bands etc.
i did add another silencer though as it was too loud, still is in fairness.

Got mine from Ebay, there is a big choice of silencers in various shapes, sizes and bores, which are all reasonably priced, take a look.

Here's mine

He's got a 2.1 zvh in with a t38 turbo making 334 bhp with the 2.5inch exhaust on but with having such a large turbo on the standard rs turbo exhaust isn't sitting quite right (close to sump and starter) so he wants to make a new full system but may aswell up the bore size for future power upgrades. (which will be soon hopefully)
