Worst accident(s) you've had?
Just wondered as i bet some of you on here have had accidents, and some really bad that you wonder how you got out alive?
Tell your storys here, how did the accident happen? who's fault was it? what happened to the car? repaired/scraped(as it was THAT bad)?
And if you've got any, pictures might make the thread more interesting, who's had the most damage thread

Stuffed my 38 tonne tank transporter into a ditch on Germany damn lift off over steer lol, no pics i am afraid as it was covered up as we winched it out ourselves and reapired it, close call and my co driver cut his hand open only
50mph roll in a mk3 escort convertible over a hedge into a field just slid behind a large traffic sign and stopped 5 yards from a telegraph pole. Only injury was a bruised shin and my mate managed to drive the car to my uncles workshop! Still not sure how I got away with it.
Taken out from behind by another biker.

The CB1300 hit 2 of us from behind, hit an oncoming car then hit the front of my bike again......

He overtook a wagon and was playing "Im gonna fly past you at silly speeds to make me look faster than you" and was too busy watching us he didnt spot the oncoming car till last minute and swerved back into the right side of the road where we were doing about 45 -50. We were told he said guessed he came into the back of us at well over 100. Im still going backwards and forwards to hospital and Ive been left with a limp, was July 2010
When I was 18 my dad bought me a 2.0i ghia Sierra. 6 weeks and plenty of Tyres later it was written off. I was trying to catch someone up (later turned out he was behind me lol) and I was going for it in the rain. I cam round a long fast left hand corner and got too close to inside kerb. With all my 1 yrs worth of experience I quickly turned right then left and next minute a 90mph drift comes from now where :-( I then spun 180 hit a bank backwards, that then made me spin again then I hit 2 telegraph poles, through a hedge and stopped with the nose of the car sticking out the hedge. My mate totaly unharmed climbed out the back through where the top of the door meets the roof while I was in the front with 4 broken ribs as my girlfriend at the time had grabbed me knowing I had no seatbelt on and my ribs bashed the centre console. Luckily the headunit came out and twatted her in the leg on the first impact leaving a sony shaped bruise on her leg lol
depending on who i ask and who tells me what:
i lent my mate my car in a car park
he promptly ran me over at between 35/40 mph
clinically dead at the scene
resus
vegatable for 10 day on life support
induced coma for 3 month
injuries?
27 fractures to my skull, leading to my brain bleeding from the bits of bone embedded in it
broken bones included (but not limited to)
ankle
both knees
hip
back (2 places)
shoulder
arm
collar bone
and more than i can remember now
they were about to turn the machine off
15 month in hospital
many of them in a wheelchair and body cast
hence my funny typing and my poor physical state
absolutly no idea what happened to the driver, i think he got 6 points

i had one today
in the company van only just left the yard and coming down the a24. thats a pretty dodgy dual carriage way and i've noticed some one turning round looking like there gonna come out in front and when i looked up there was a 206 parked in the road swerved trying to miss it and i've caught the arse end and folded the back to where the rear seats would be. i've stopped further up on the other side of the road with the passenger wheel folded against the arch broken bottom arm and bent wing door and bumper plus light
but on the plus i haven't got the sack
smashes a f reg orion up on the motorway at 110mph, pinballing off either side till i stopped, facing the wrong way. ended up quite a bit smaller than it started! luckily all 4 of us got out without a scratch. and smashed a s1 up, putting big ern off here into a corner of a wall

Some lucky escapes by the looks of it ! this is a bit of a essay but here goes !
I'd say the biggest accident I've had was when driving back from Leeds on the A1, I remember I wasn't speeding, certainly under 80mph, I overtook a blue estate car and shortly afterwards I was hurtling through the air with flames pouring through where the windscreen once was, a few more rolls later and a large smash into a Sprinter I was knocked out and woke up probably no more than a minute later upside down.
I have no idea how I got out, my (ex) mate had already got out and left me there it later turned out. Once I was out of the car the driver of the estate car I overtook calmed me down whilst I watched my car burn itself out, not long after the plod and ambulance service showed up I fell unconscious and woke up at 10am the following day in Leeds hospital, turns out again my mate had just left me there and made his way home!
At first they thought the steering rack or joint had failed but I had been awake for a long time and although its not cool its far more likely I fell asleep for a few seconds, the car veered of the carriageway fortunately into one of the only bits of armco on the N/S which the car drove up and sent it airborn then rolling and then hitting the van. The car was totalled, I remember the fuel line on that car was fastened off the inner wing over the cam cover into the mechanical pump and it was a bit tight, obviously when the initial hit happened the engine moved back enough to pull the hose off which is how the fire started.
Just to rub salt in the wound a little more a few weeks later the insurance company refused to pay out as they said fire was caused by the accident, not a cause of the accident, then the salvage yard sent me a bill a month or so later for storage and removal of the car of the A1 which was approx a grand, I took a visit upto to see the company and he said as I was still walking after it he scrapped the bill and just asked me to pay for the recovery which was the only good thing to come out of it.
Finally though the evening I got out of hospital the Police rang to see if I was ok and said if the blood tests came up clear I wouldn't hear from them again as they wouldn't convict me for anything, well months later a summons came through for not producing my documents, driving with no insurance etc... We spoke to the Police and I said I wanted to see a signed producer to which they said it could well of been a verbal producer ( likely I'd remember that after such a accident ) So anyway off to Leeds we went armed with photos of the wreck and the documents and luckily they let it go.
I'd have to dig the photos out as I have none scanned, tbh I'd say I've seen way worse looking cars but being stuck in a car whilst it was fire is not a pleasant experience.
As for my (ex) mate, he tried to take me to court, I ignored any letters I received and when I eventually bumped into him and questioned him on not even trying to help me he said he would share the compensation money with me.... cunt lol

Slamed a lamp post head on in a montego years back, bet the thing in half, was one of those big buggers they use on adual carriageways!!
Was being daft and lost it, my uncle checked the car out a few days later and said the post hit dead centre of the front of the car, had it been an inch or two either side he reckons it would have been in the car with me!!
I walked away unhurt but jeebers that was a hard bump!! oddly everything slowed down during it, remember watching the glass shattering and floating away and then being thrown forwards and then smashing my head of the side window then it was like watching a film speed up back to normal pace.
Slowed me down as it made me realise just how quickly it all goes wrong and how you can suddenly just be along for the ride with naff all you can do to stop it.

coming back from work and fitting a new exhaust on me old mans 406 i swifty crashed in to a car pulling out of a junction. there was nothing coming other way,so i pulled in to rite lane but he was still pulling out looking wrong way ,bounced off his front corner up the wall and hitting a tree that turned car over landing down the road ,some one was looking down, as if i hit wall either side tree it was a 65foot drop
only had a broken nose and arm ,always remember that day me old man was more intrested in sorting a hire car out and left me two hours outside hospital before coming for me

was driving down a main a road doing 30 and an old bloke pulled straight across the road to go down a no entry road, didnt even get a chance to brake, id only had my car 2 weeks, got wrote off because of chassis damage, i havent got a picture of his brand new astra, hit his car and it ended up about 30m down the road facing the same way i was going, think he got done for dangerous driving
I was a passenger in a car in 2003, driver decided to not stop at a crossroads. resulted in getting t-boned. Resulted in 55 stitches to my right ear, sore legs. Oh and 7 years of my life with the bint who caused the crash.

I hit a motorway road sign @50 mph . one that didn't have a barrier around it as they do now. I climbed out with only glass fragments embedded in my head .
Sadly my best friend lost her life in the passenger seat. I will live with the guilt , memories and images of that night embossed on my mind forever.
This is the picture on the front page of the Evening Times newpaper the day it happened.

I bet that hurt like hell. Didn't realise Lee was injured. Nasty business all round, but doing that on the Gumball is certainly something to remember!

I've never really had much, been fortunate other than a couple of morons running into me from the rear. Hit a wheelie bin once, but that was intentional
Hard to beleive but yes its the same car , as you can see one of the road sign poles severed the inner wing and bulkhead , resulting in a ruptured fuel line on the Ns inner wing. I blacked out and came round to the car being on fire.
The car was totally burnt out . A photographer apparently crossed the field and jumped from the bushes to get a Picture , it was the flash that makes it look white.
I was told that the picture was on the front page of the paper , when I picked the paper up I didn't recognise it and turned the pages to try find the picture further into the paper , it took a few seconds to sink it and realise that it was my Car.
That was the first time it really hit me and the severity and reality of the whole thing sank in and I broke down in the middle of the shop.
