Bike Engine in a Car
Evening all...
I've seen this on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2208544112...84.m1423.l2649 and quite like it - I doubt I'll win it but its got me thinking.
He has done front engine rear wheel drive.
How would that be done with a bike engine??
The other bike engines I've seen use the chain with the engine in the back.
Any thoughts?

You can see the propshaft in picture 3 going onto the original sprocket location on the gearbox.
Note that it's got no reverse, only 6 forward gears.
It must have and adapter on the output shaft to bolt the prop flange onto.

Thats the sprocket location on the ZX9 engine he's using in his car.
I suppose you could weld something on...
I am guessing lightweight is the most important thing....
Now - to RWD a MK1 fiesta using escort live axle stuff... hmmm

someone put a bike engine in the front of a derby and used sierra gear prop etc out back, they sound awesome but not much torque
and for reverse gears they use an electric starter, speak to ZCARS they do loads

Mot'd but no reverse............ Ok then
You euther use a reverse gear box (put it in first gear, pull a lever and it connects a gear to propel you backwards or a big starter moter to do it electrically.
feckinc cool wee car though!
