Just wondering if you need a passport to get a ferry from dublin to holyhead ? my passport is always in date but my mates isntso could he travel on a photo id or driving licence etc ????

gosh no,im always back and forth over to uk and any form of id will do you, no passport required as there is free travel between the two countrys, id will be handy if stopped at customs

When I was 12 I went to Dublin from Birkenhead with my dad they didnt ask for any ID at all.

Funnily enough though they were being funny at Belfast for the return journey back to the mainland because I didin't have a passport must've just been company policy or something (Norfolk Line)

From the North? No, its like driving from England to Scotland. Via ferry i don't think so, Driving licence will do.

 

any where from scotland, wales, england, northern ireland , southern ireland you do not need a passport, its only when you cross to the mainland europe you need a passport, bring some form of id just in case you end up in a bit of bother or for renting a car or something like this but for traveling from country to country you need fuckall
