Hey fellas can anyone suggest where im going wrong ??
Fitted my new oil pump today on my engine on a stand after block and sump been painted !
Cant get the sump to go on right . Seems like its not sitting right on the block ! Can get all the bolts in on both sides but some were starting to go in wonky but actualy went in ok after a bit of perseverence but cant get the ones in on the oil pump or flywheel end 1 Its been pissing me off for a an hour an a half so i just took it off again and walked away !
Any ideas or has anyone had the same problem ??

I wondered that as i had simil trouble with a pinto sump i did a few months back ! I might take off the pick up again and try it but im doubtful thats the problem ! Its as if the sump sits wonky if you get what i mean ! The bolts where that go into the oil pump seem miles off ! Maybe it just me but i'll have to have another gp and see what the crack is
Thanks for your reply

The threads are clean i think the sump is genuine and no the oil pump isnt level with the block . Though in the instructions it says that that is ok aslong as the gap between the crank and the pump rotors are equal on all the 3 rotors ! It says to get those gapped equal not to make sure that it sits level as the crank can smash the rotors on the pump if not gapped right !
In total the pump sits maybe 2mm lower than the block but again says ok aslong a you put plenty of gasket paste on to seal !
Until id read the instructions i thought i had he wrong pump or a dodgy pump and to be fair im still not so sure !
Noodle teaser this one for me im afraid !
