cosworth managment?
hey folks in the middle of done and cvh running cosworth managment but it has a full cosworth inlet manafold. anyway got it in the car got it running but its like a bag of sh*te engine sounds smooth but its popping and banging as soon as you try to rev it. its running dark green injectors on p8 ecu with pectal boards. one idle if you pull out the first ignition lead it doesnt change anything? i think it is because of the cam sensor but not sure any thoughts are very helpfull.

If the cam sensor has a problem then the car would stall or even not start at all.
Does the engine react to pulling the plug on another cylinder? If yes, then the problem is with the first cylinder. No fuel or no spark.
If you connect a test spark plug to the lead, do you have spark?
Is the 12 volt feed present on the injector for this cylinder?
How much resistance (ohm) do your injectors have?

i can start the can when the cam sensor is unpluged and it runs the same the engine does react on other cylinders yea but first scylinder is getting a spark and good compression im not to sure on how to check the ohm on the injector side of things ??:S lol thanks

A Cosworth management system usually has it "cam" sensor inside the distributor.
Are you sure you are referring to the correct "cam" sensor?, because without a signal telling what cylinder 1 is, the engine will not start.
Use an ohm meter (Digital Volt Meter) to measure resistance.
Disconnect connectors and measure between the two pins of the injector.
Or remove the complete fuel rail with injectors, wiring, pressure regulator and fuel lines.
Then have somebody start the engine and observe spray pattern on all injectors.
All 4 injectors spray fuel? Roughly the same amount?

Is the chip in the P8 mapped for your engine?

The ECU does not really need the cam sensor. It's only used for sequential injection, which requires 720 deg sync. In 360 deg sync (without cam sensor signal) the ECU injects half the fuel at every revs and the engine runs reasonably fine!
That said I'd check the crank sensor: make sure the gap is within specs. This is the one sensor you really can't do without and the ECU can easily lose sync if the gap between the sensor and the trigger is too wide, which causes bangs, pops and all kinds of nasty stuff.
