You could do with using some tar remover before claying,if theres loads of tar its easier to remove and you wont glog the clay up with lots of tar

I usually wash it again after claying. Then dry, polish and wax.

Once I sealed it after polishing, then waxed it but the whole process took 7 hours and I never want to repeat it

i havent washed a car myself in over 4 years - finally did the saff i just got and only got as afar as washing and drying the car only for the heavens to open

Im using all autoglym stuff too and have super resin polish and extra gloss protection - i thought these were waxes and the other a sealant? My moonstone 3dr always looked good when i used these and nothing else.

hi mate
the best way to get a good result is to first use snow form on your car this when left to dwell for a few mins lifts all the grease/dirt from the cars paint work
power wash the snow form off and then wash your car (two buckets) one with your shampoo/conditioner (chemical guys maxi suds 11) and one bucket with clean water to rince you wash mit during the wash.then dry using a dodo juice drying towel . then it's time to start claying the car (meguiars clay kit best stuff on the market always use it ) for super results use a buffer like the megs G220 using megs 80# & megs 83# if you aint got a buffer and depending on the colour
of your car either use poorboy's black hole (dark colour cars)poorboy's white diamond (lite colour cars) then to wax it up i would either use dodo juice puple haze wax or poorboy's natty paste blue wax. use these porducts's and you will never go wrong autoglym is shit stuff i do cars all most every day as a detailer and never use the stuff HATE IT

I never use AutoGlym either - horrible stuff. Never ever used a polish that leaves as much residue / dust on a car, and I won't have anything other than their glass cleaner in my cupboard. Awful stuff to use.

dont worry mate there is no way you can damage you paint with a g220 they are so easy to use and dont spin fast enough to burn the paint

The finish is OK, for me it's the residue it leaves behind that I can't stand. You almost have to clean the car again after using it. I use a trade polish that is silicon free - it doesn't last very long (but given the mileage I do it doesn't need to !) but the finish is the best I have ever come across. My painter loves it as well as there's no silicon to contend with !

I think for the money the finish is excellent and if you are getting lots of dust then you are using too much.

I often mix the super resin polish with the gloss protection 70/30 and cant believe how easy it is.

I used to use AG but to be honest, since switching to Poor boys black hole and nattys wax I couldnt go back, wouldnt mind trying some of the Purple haze, AG just seemed so hard to buff of and left to much residue.

I have a g220 machine and it is great but you do need to make sure everything is clean as you can cause more harm if you start dragging dust/dirt around the paint. Also, if the car has been painted and you get a panel edge and thin paint you can go through but in general they are pretty safe.
