Have you forgotten a wire on the battery ?, assuming it was disconnected/reconnected.
It won't hurt to check the fuses either.

The lighter is independant of the ignition so should work, the indicators may also have a problem. So far as I know there isn't an ignition relay. Also check the battery as said if it's been touched.

When starting is it turning over at all? If so check for fuel and spark.

Thanks for the ideas, i've checked the battery wiring OK the fuses OK.The engine turns over fine, just doesnt fire. I've checked for spark and there isnt one.I put the ignition on and both the battery and oil lights come on there is the normal buzzing from under the bonnet turn the key and the engine just turns over.

With the ignition on to position 2 check for 12v at the injectors, there is a relay behind the glovebox that supplies the 12v to the fuel rail, and also triggers the fuel pump relay.

No, does the fuel pump prime when the ignition is switched on? If not look toward the CPS.

I presume you checked for spark at the king lead? Check for a feed at the coil terminal WITH the BLACK wire with the ignition ON, you should and most likely have a 12V feed here?

If you want I can tell you two pins you can bridge at the ECU which will send a SPOUT and so if you then get a spark it shows everything to be ok (Amp etc), so you can then look at the ECU/sensor side.

I've got a feed at the coil none at the injectors and found two relays up near the ecu both the same, niether clicked when i first tried the ignition so swapped them and one clicked but stil no feed at the injectors and no pump noise.

Those two relays are yellow? These are the ECU relay and fuel pump relay, I suspect the ECU relay,

A) You will have no power to ECU hence no pump
B) The same relay feeds the injectors.

Check for +12V at pin 20 of ECU, which I suspect you won't have!

If the relay clicks then it shows it is getting power so you must therefore trace the output which leaves the relay to the ECU/injectors.

I don't think it is personally very unlikely for both to go and if one is heard to be clicking it's a good indication it's working so it's something forward of the relay, the fuel pump one is most likely good but it isn't going to switch unless the ECU is running, in any case it's very easy to test them!
