Default Cosworth fuel pump re-wire braided looms

Can anyone put a diagram up of how these wire up please?

(supposed to run through an existing relay or something)

I've heard they can be a nightmare to do and it's putting me off buying one.

Thanks

Yeah that's who I'll likely buy it from but I need to know how they wire in.

I've heard there a pain as they wire through an existing relay or something?

Can anyone advise or post a pic up of the diagram please?

From memory,

Live terminal from the battery (fused on the loom), then the relay on the loom will be in the boot, and you cut the original feed, crimp it, and put that onto the relay. Make a new earth and all done?

So the original feed to the pump switches the relay and gives power to the pump using the new direct feed from the battery

Can he do them with the relay under the dash rather than in the boot?

I'm sure he could do yes I believe the original live comes from the ECU anyway so would just be a case of cutting it there instead of the boot

neg switch comes from ecu, live still comes direct from battery as standard but runs through a fusable link that after 20 odd years will be corroded and shitty. I made my own and put the relay up the front in the original postion.

Buy a new 40amp relay. The relay will have terminals 85, 86, 30 and 87. you may be left with one terminal (87a) don't panic you don't need it

blue/white from ecu(pin28 i think from memory) - pin 85
ignition feed - pin 86
Fused supply straight from battery - pin 30
fuel pump + terminal- pin 87

the old ford black/red will also need to be connected to pin 87 as this also powers the iscv etc. make sure you isolate it boot end to prevent short circuit.

i used a Durite 40/70 amp relay part No. 0-728-70

hope this helps,
Phil
