Default a little help please lads

hello chaps,a little help needed,got my self a new 2wd thermostat housing for my 2wd sapphy and when i got it i thought champion,went out side to have a look at the old 1 and i noticed it has 1 inlet pipe on the side but the 1 i got off burton has 2 as seen in the picture

have i ordered the wrong 1 with it having 2 inlet pipes or is it ok to use.

Yes does seem strange that is the the feed for the heater or turbo can't remember which perhaps they have made it so you connect both feeds to the housing hence two unions, it defo says it's for the car.

Early 2wd thermostat housings had 2 take-offs, later one a single take-off. The second take-off was for bleeding. Blank off the rear one.

As jon says later housings deleted the bleed feature, I normally drill a 3mm hole in the top edge of the stat just to help any air dispel.

you could use a piece of silicone hose with a bolt in it secured with a hose clip,
or alternativly(sp) ford did a blanking cap for the pinto and would assume that the cosworth had the same cap, might be worth trying your local dealer!
