Default Connector under the steering wheel

Hello i was putting the car back together today and there is a connector under the dash to the right of the steering colum.
It is similar to the ecu connector but smaller.
I do not no what it is.
Could it be the door locking mechanism.
I havn't seen this yet so guess its that.

saffs don't use that central locking relay, and the ABS ECU is behind the glove box.

coleyst200 - that's why I specifically quoted "I bought a saph" - just in case the original post was about a 3dr. I was just trying to clarify that there would be a difference if he's got a 3dr, which you quite rightly say wasn't made clear in the original post.

I'm under my dash now and the only control box/Ecu style thing there is a silver lamp failure indicator. It has a pink Ford sticker on it with part number 87BG 10C909AA held in a white bracket.
Hopefully someone can help me now? I cannot find the connector for the std time clock in the centre dash. Can someone tell me what colour wires I shld have and if possible a pic of the plug? I have also 4 wires in the Ford loom that have been cut off but seem in wrong place for the clock - they are Red, Brown, Black with Brown stripe, and Grey with Yellow stripe and are in the same sub loom as the fan control switch. Any ideas please?
And very sorry to hijack yr thread but I did answer yr question first lol

Mine is a saph.
Its not the central locking. Its not the abs then.
Its next to the steering column.like a ob2 or steereo connector its long about 32 connectiions.
No bother i will check out the other saph thats coming friday.
I just took the garden fence down n parked a scorpio on the lawn,to get the new car on the drive.

I can only see 2 plugs like you describe - 1 is for the dash clocks and the other is plugged in to the unit I described earlier which is bolted to the A pillar.

Certainly nothing standard going by your description, as said the bulb monitor is behind the drivers kick trim but that connector looks nothing like the ECU "SCART"

I have something on the steering column on mine but it's more a receptor than a connector, it looks like you insert something into it, but that would have been from a previous alarm, this is what yours in sounding like perhaps...
