people may differ, but was wondering if people just use neat coolant or dialute it with water? i alway suse neat but wondering wether this is a bad idea?

it says dialute, but as we all know people have different methods and ideas i was just curious

 

the current one i have actually says can be used neat if you want..

 

I do what it says on the bottle. Some are ready diluted and some are not.

 

if it says you can use it neat then its up to you, im too tight personally, the stuffs fooking expensive if you want to completly fill a system with it!

i'd see what the vehicle manufacturer recommends.... not sure about the focus but some cars dont like certain types of coolant

 

it has to be the pink coolent and i would follow the instructions given by ford rather than what it states on bottle.

 

Neat coolant in the case of Ethylene Glycol can eat away water passages, and anything else made of copper or aluminum, really nicely, even though it may(should) have biocede in it, it will eat the material.
Another thing to consider is that it is way less effecient as a coolant than say a 50/50 mix, as the water is used as a catalyst to help increase heat absorbtion into the medium/coolant.

like tab said neat will corrode the block,head, rad over time

poss head gasket failure as well
50/50 mix is ok
also no anti freeze it will do the same

 

Just use 50/50 mix now. when I ran my cosworths i would use 50/50 antifreeze and distilled water.

 

i always use 50/50, and as trist said mixing with distilled water is a good idea too

 

As said most manufactures recommend a 50/50 mix also I don't use tap water, I use water rain water or distilled would work as well.
