Can anyone tell me what number on coil pack goes to which plug?
I am sure its not just 1 -1, 2-2, 3-3 etc, but need to confirm which goes to which
I know the firing order is 1,3,4,2.
Cheers Dave

check you have wired the low tension wires correctly
a wasted spark coil is nothing more really than 2 coils in a single pack with a common live and two separate trigger signals one for each coil

Ok,
First job is to determine which bank isnt working. So pull off both 2 and 3, see if it makes a difference? If not, try 1 and 4.
When you have figured which two dont work, you can see which side of the circuit to investigate. The plug on the coil has one live (Middle) and two triggers, one for each bank.
You then possibly have two ignition amps? If so, again, they will be one for each bank.
Finally, ECU drive depends on what your running at the ECU?

The most common problem I see with these self installs is the firing trigger signals are the wrong way round, both coils are firing just at the wrong time.
simplest fix is to swap the leads over on the two coils
swap 2and 3 with 1 and 4
due to high coil outputs I don't advise you unplug ht leads whilst the engiine is running
if you wish to check which coil / cylinder is not firing you should either disconnect each injector wire one at a time or unplug alternate ignition amp plugs
my money is on the low tension triggers are wired the wrong way round
just swap the leads over

Hi Tony
Yes one side is working and the other isnt
Tried swapping the leads over with no success, was working fine before pulled it all apart so not sure what can be wrong now

We gook the head off due to a hairline crack in combustion chamber number 3.
New head sourced and then refitted yesterday evening.
All was going well until we tried to fire the engine into life and was greeted by lots of coughing and spluttering.
On closer inspection after the comments above, one bank of the coilpack has cracked and started to distort, just bought a new one and it all magically came to life

Good stuff!!!their not the most robust of items either and bloody electronics can break at any time.
There's a way of measuring the resistances between each post on the coilpack but even this is not infallible as it told me my Corsa b coilpack was fine yet the car missed when hot.I put another on and job jobbed, hasn't missed a beat since.
