On closer inspection after the comments above, one bank of the coilpack has cracked and started to distort, just bought a new one and it all magically came to life

Good stuff!!!their not the most robust of items either and bloody electronics can break at any time.
There's a way of measuring the resistances between each post on the coilpack but even this is not infallible as it told me my Corsa b coilpack was fine yet the car missed when hot.I put another on and job jobbed,hasn't missed a beat since.
