Or could say steveboyslim who isnt a trader on here but I know he supplies people with lots of parts for performance engines as a trader away from here have "parts supply specialist" as his username?

As I always thought that things which so strongly hinted at a commerical interest would not be allowed even if they didnt contain your company name explicitly.
This one seems to have been missed in with all the comedy vanilla ice pictures etc.
All the best,

It looks to me like Tony has tied your infraction to the wrong post!!

He infact meant the infraction to be tied to the post where you made comment in regards Pete being an arse.

No it cant be to do with that, as I have already had a seperate warning for that post anyway, which I have already replied to Tony about:

I think that all the working out down the gym he keeps going on about has no doubt really helped tone up pete's posterial region, and so consequently he has a specialist arse not a run of the mill flabby one.

I think it suits you.

It reads "specialist arse"
Warnings serve as a reminder to you of the forum's rules, which you are expected to understand and follow.

All the best,

Besides, the other reason it cant possibly be for that joke, is that Pete replied to it saying

So VERY clearly it didnt bother him in the slightest anyway.
So if he person on the receiving end of the bit of banter is replying saying its fine and giving a bit of banter back to me calling me a mid life crisis bloke etc, then how can it possibly be considered an insult?

I have just checked and the infraction is definately to do with the "arse" comment.

The initial warning was meant to carry a 5 point infraction but there was an error made when implementing this.

It certainly sounds like more than one mistake made there then, as do you honestly beleive even if you took my joke about the pronounciation of RS as ARSE in its most insulting possible manner it actually justifies 5 infraction points for 6 months, ie 2 jokey comments like that in a 6 months period and a user is banned from the site?

That strikes me as utterly pathetic, but its not me who makes the rules of course, so to help the moderation team out I will keep an eye out for any post of a similar or greater level of insult directed at myself or others and reply to this thread with it so that you can apply a similar punishment. As after all, im sure you would all like to see parity of sentancing for these terrible crimes of having a bit of a laugh with a joke that can be taken as a slight insult etc.

Unbelievable isnt it!

They have set the precedant there that 2 jokey comments with a slight edge to them from any user in a 6 months period results in them being banned from the site that they pay to support etc.

I will speak to the Mod who gave these points and see if they werent a little harsh.

We are as a team trying to crack down on unnessecary insults being thrown at Mods who are just trying to do their jobs.

A bit of banter is absolutely fine though so leave it with me for a little while and I will see what I can do.

This sort of massive inconsitstancy is the sort of thing that people have such a problem with in the first place!

Cant believe the irony of it being in a post where mutliple people were complaining about the mods being totally out of touch with the forum and totally inconsistant that he made such a monstrous over zealous infraction for no reason at all, even by Tony's standards thats a hell of a cock up

No the warning was for that, as per the PM I have included above.

Anyway the comment you mentioned (about specialist r.s reading like "specialist arse") is one which the moderator in question has explicitly stated that the comment was fine by him, and then he returned fire with a little harmless banter in return too just to show it was all in good fun on both parties.

So why have you waded in and dished out infraction points AND a warning all over that one harmless bit of banter?

And where on earth did you come up with half a ban for a 6 month period as being a suitable level of punishment even if it was taken out of context?

Seriously, this is EXACTLY the sort of thing that is making people dislike the moderation team, its just a total and utter lack of any consistancy, no one respets rules when they are enforced at random and with massively varying levels of punishment.
