Default Transit Connect problem, help please.

Hi all,

I have a problem on my Connect, recently the ABS light came on and stayed on on the dash, after plugging it in to a diagnostic machine, it showed up a fault with the passenger front ABS sensor, i changed it yesterday, went to have the fault cleared with the diagnostic machine, cleared it, got 10 yards up the road and BANG, ABS light comes back on..

It's still showing a fault with the sensor, so we changed it for another brand new one, checked all the wiring, cleared the fault, and same thing happened, light came back on almost immediately,

Is there something else I am missing, could the ABS ring that the sensor reads off be damaged and needs replacing, hence giving me the fault,

If anyone's had a similar problem then please share your input, advice and any solutions,

Cheers for your info guys, its doing my head in and i want to sell the van but cant with this fault, arrrrgggghhhhhhhhhhh,

CheeRS

possibly, mate of mine had a wheel bearing replaced at a garage in the passenger front and abs light was always on, tried a new sensor no joy, so we replace the bearing our selves and the light stayed off

place who worked on it suggested be bridge it out behind the dash to get rid of the light........bodgers

this was on a mk3 mondeo but surely same thing?

Almost certainly the bearing ring that's at fault here as we've had a few that have had this problem.

ABS ring at the hub dirty/rusty or wheel bearing shot (allowing for excessive play and inaccurate readings)

Default Transit connect 06 abs light and soft pedal

Ok I'm new on here, that new that I can't work out how to post my own thread, but I'm looking for a bit of advise

Got a Transit Connect Tdci 06 Lwb hight top, and have a problems with the brakes...any help really appreciate.

The history
Been hammering the van now for 1000mile a week for the last 9months, I noticed that when braking, I could feel the abs pumping throughout the brake pedal, as I didn't have time to get it checked, I just carried on.. And then like a dickhead and I hit a kerb and broke a gear box mount and fucked the near side drive shaft..
Had this fixed and everything was rosey for about 2 week, then the brake pedal becomes pretty shit, I press the pedal and it goes straights to the floor I lift my foot off and press again and I have brakes, I've also notice that if I pump the pedal before starting it and it goes hard, that when I start the van with my foot on the pedal the pedal slowly presses down ??? Sometimes it also feels like the brakes are really loose on the discs and are just catching?
Also noticed that when the steering wheel is to the right there's a whining?
Guy at kwick fit reckons its the servo, not had chance to get it checked by a real garage yet, but was also thinking maybe since the mount had broke, maybe some of the bushes have worn down?.
Any help would be really appreciated, before I start spending

sounds like your wheel bearing is that fucked the movement in the wheel is knocking the piston back in the caliper, get it sorted before your wheel comes off

Done a few brake servo's on these vans unfortunately pal! It's due to pad change when you push the calliper piston back it forces the brake fluid in the servo backwards its not designed to do that therefore the seals turn inside out hence the brake pedal not being there when you first depress it, and as for the noise when turning, power steering racks on these fuck up all the time! Don't buy a cheap replacement Av done that a few tines and they Shit themselves, get a genuine ford rack! Hope this helps... Just s top tip for future also.. if you ever experience power loss check a long thin hose that goes to top of the turbo for a split, as they split offen replace it for about a fiver and your boost is back just top tip for when it probably does fail on you!! Hope this helps!!
