Default Changing gear - HELP!

Been adjusting my linkage today as it feels stiff going into gear sometimes when driving. Have a new Helix clutch done around 500 miles and a Puma linkage fitted.
Seems fine going up the gears but occasionally stiff going down and have to double clutch and try changing again. Its not crunching or making noises and has a new clutch quadrant fitted.
Just wondering if I should try and move the arm on top of the gearbox (which is also new) round a couple of splines towards the front of the car to help the clutch engage or disengage better, any suggestions??
Have no idea how old the box actually is and not got the cash right now to be forking out for a rebuild (spent too much already)

Id try swapping to the standard linkage. Ive read it can be a little troublesome if you don't spend hours fine adjusting it.

I wouldn't move the arm on the gearbox side of things, im sure it is meant to be in its position for a reason.

Did you need to do the pedal conversion at all? and how similar or different is this puma linkage.

I would check the gears with a normal rs one (providing its an rs) and if the problem is still there id check the cable/pedal travel

Didn't need to do the pedal mod with the Helix clutch just fitted a new ratchet. No idea how old the cable and gearbox actually are.

The Puma linkeage just a shorter throw and more positive gear change than the standard shifter.

how much did you pay for the puma linkage?

and did you just have to drill a hole to fix it to car?

im unsure how long the rods are so unsure how far from the box the lever will sit in car...

about 20 quid off ebay. The shifter is mounted using two bolts instead of the escort's four so you have to drill 2 new holes to fit it. Easier with 2 people to do. It does sit slightly further back but not that noticeable.
