the council have been putting in new bathrooms in 3 flats and each time they did a flat they just fucked off and left a mess in the landing which i have cleaned up on friday they were working in the flat above me doing the bathroom they fucked off and left a pipe leaking my living room got a big bubble in the roof my nearly done bathroom roof was soaking phoned them up and someone was supposed to come round but never turned up im wanting componsation for damage and something for cleaning up there mess need some advice what i can do
You'll get nothing for cleaning up other than a letter telling you that it was still workin progress and that you shouldnt be touching it.
But on the other stuff, try calling them a couple of times and follow it up in writing and if still they dont want to move along then i'd try and put in a claim against your house and contents insurance and then let your insurer chase the council perhaps?

If the contractors have left for the day, then they should remove all rubbish from site and not leave it just piled up outside the place of work.
I'm a contractor for a council/housing association and this is the policy with them.
I would phone up the council and go ballistic at them, but in a polite way
