Engines not bad, but underpowered in the Astra. In my experience, very good engine in the Corsa though....

think it may have been a company car with the miles and its white.she doesnt look after nothing so theres no point spending loads on something with less miles and a bigger engine.her old astra has more hits than the beatles, never been serviced or oil changed in 4 years or 47k miles.im waiting on the belt snapping!

probably ex police or ex howdens. Cant think of any other reason why you would buy a new white disastra estate

Had a 1.3 TDCi Astra saloon for a few years and it was ok, was quite easy to stall at low revs though, but that was about it!

Had the 6 speed box and was very economical

If its the same engine that is in the corsa which it properly is. They love timing chains they snap for fun. Its a fiat engine so what do you expect.

volkswagen are by far not without their faults.anything new and diesel will undoubtedly need injectors or a pump at some point.the old mans passat got parked up no problem, came back 5 mins later and wouldnt start.needed 2 new injectors.

I would avoid any modern diesel to be honest. They are all far too technical and I don't think I have heard of a decent, reliable modern diesel engine.

If she is just going to smash the shit out of everywhere and not give a fuck about it, get her a TDDI focus or a 1.7 isuzu powered astra, before all this common rail and fancy flywheel shit came in!
