Ive just put a xr4i engine in my mk2 escort but carnt get a spark??
Does anyone know the pin layout for my ecu as it doesnt seem to be getting power???

 

2.8 V6 XR4i or twink 4cyl 8V XR4i?
2.8 is MFi so dont have an ecu?

 

Its an 2.8 xr4i v6!! So what are he two boxes, one says is a fault unit and i presumed the other was ecu?? DO YOU KNOW WHAT IT IS?

 

errrI take it youve put the whole XR loom in then?
the fault unit is for the lights out thingy on the XR dash and the other i've no idea but the only leccy thing they have is an igniton amplifier for the leccy ignition the injection is all manualy done.
have you tried on interford? there are quite a few xr4i owners over there

NO i tried seperating the engine bay loom from the rest. But i thought that was an ecu thats why i was strugerling! I went on your site and used the wiring diagram on there and i still dont have a spark. Thanks for the link ill av a look

 

Do i need a Balast Resistor shown on your page? If so what is it and what does it do?

 

Came home from work thought id give it another try, i didnt even touch anything and i had a spark, it started up like a DREAM! I had to abandon ship though due to not being able to see due to all the SMOKE!!
