Default Do you sometimes wish you drove a POS?

Was just thinking the other day back to the days where I started off inheriting my dad's runaround... a 1993 1.3 Nissan Micra LX in charcoal grey and dust . I used to leave that anywhere and everywhere, squeeze it into the tightest space available, mount kerbs, could thread it through gaps that normal sized cars cannot, for example instead of turning all the way back and redo the last mile I managed to squeeze it through two bollards and go round some roadworks.

I can't do any of that with my car now. Fearful leaving it anywhere I'm not familiar with and even though I love driving it so so much and how much fun it is, I never relax when I leave it in places I don't know or that don't seem that pleasant. Taking the fun somewhat out of the ownership.

Anyone else feel this way or is it me being a big wet?

best way is if you can afford it, have a banger/car your not to bothered about

I love my focus estate, but if it gets a new dent or scratch I won't lose any sleep.

My best vehicle I have ever owned is my current Rover 218D.

Its a smokey old bus thats running a bar of boost, upped pump and boost compo.....my company supply my fuel, I dont have to worry about parking it, i've never washed it since I bought it, its pure comedy to drive and it also means I can drive about un-noticed.

I can bounce it up kerbs when parking and have been known to use the odd public byway in it

When it goes tits up I will just replace it with something equally as shite.....its great as a daily driver as I also have my Discovery for messing about in!

Yep

I have a wee fiesta 1.25 zetec, runs absolute mint, never been welded or needs it, bodywork has some rust and scrapes of old fella but box is tight and goes like fuck the wee thing, park it anywhere at my work can mount kerbs that i cant in my Leon FR and saves it getting dented scraped bla bla bla

Bought it for Ł200 with years ticket and 1 weeks tax, Serviced it taxed it and never misses a beat.

Theres a very low 55k milage silver 5 door one came up for sale at a garage in minty mint condition and if i had the spare cash just now id snap it up if my Leon would sell. And get a ST200 mondeo to play with aswell as freeing up some cash.

Used to run pug 405 diesels years ago and loved them aswell but cant get them now unless its 500 miles away lol

I just changed my nice Audi A4 daily for a old e30 316 touring, amazing on fuel and I am not too worried about it. Also my 1.8zeteced fiesta is a battered old shitter, so same with that lol. I dont like leaving my nice e30 anywhere thou
