Default Tesco Car Insurance

I wont to make a complaint about the bodyshop who has repaired (still repairing)my Ford Mondeo i have phoned Tesco's and told them but i also wont to put something in writing as the bodyshop is now taking the piss but i can’t seem to find a email address or an address to write to them I would look at the policy but its all pack as we are decorating the spare room.

Can anyone help?

politely and in writing make as much fuss and complaint as you can. we had this when my dads car got repaired after some chinese boy drove into him not seeing the blatantely obvious junction. there was overspray everywhere and the sill was all rippled so they got it repaired again (£4,500 job)

when we got it back it looked quite good but oor didnt shut properly so spoke to the insurance company about having someone come out and inspect the work. they sent some independant guy out who guaranteed us he was independant but said he couldnt say anything while he viewed the car and we would have to wait for his report. long story short he broke that rule as to his trained eye it was a fucking awfull job.

we complained again and got the insurance company to agree to using a repairer of our choice who stripped it all back again and did it properly. one expensive repair job especially when you factor in the number of courtesy cars we got through as they kept taking them back idiots

Thanks for the info mate, yeah ours has been back 5 times

I opened the bonnet last week to fill the washer bottle up and the bonnet wouldnt shut properly so i removed the front grill to try and re adjust the lock and when i had removed the grill there was a few broken pipe which they should of replaced now if i hadnt removed the grill the other day i wouldnt of seem it, then i was told he would order a new pipe from fords and its now been 2 weeks and i have had enough now as they never ring back when they say they will either

So wont to put something in writing now as Tesco's said it had to go to this garage when i wonted it to go else where

I'm 100% sure despite what tescos say YOU can choose any repairer you want, but tesco would only be obliged to pay the lower amount/quote if thier approved man was cheaper.
The policy even if it had this in writing about using thier choice most likely would not stand up in court if needed, pretty sure it's illegal tying you into a certain person, so even if part of policy has no basis in law, ie doesn't exist in practice.
Take lots of piccies put things in writing, all tescos could insist on was that they were approved, though most insurers are happy to use anyone you are happy with.
At the end of the day they won't garage won't be paid until YOU are happy and sign to say so, so don't sign if a courtesy car has been supplied until you are happy, garages make a right sting from insurers on hire/courtesy cars so tesco would then take note.

You don't have to use any repair place if you don't want, can take the money cost and diy, if you can.
