As title, anyone know where to get some AP 362mm brake discs for sensible money?
I'm very skint following my engine rebuild and Ring Trip all in a 3 week period, but need some new discs to keep my car on the road.
Think new they're £600 ish for a pair
Anyone know who's cheapest for them? Or has anyone got an old pair, even heavily worn pair or single disc they fancy selling me?
One of mine is cracked, so not keen on driving the car at the mo.

Utter shite company. Fortunately for them their dealer (in the form of Tony NutsRus) is sound as they come. Will, will be on the blower to you in a few mins
Yep, both from 160+ mph.... so at both places my brakes get a good roasting! Lovely big brake kit the APs, but a tad pricey!

I wouldn't touch that crap with a barge pole. It's been nearly a year and half since I sent my brake kit back to them from my last Evo. Still no refund or replacement

Disc size and age has virtually no bearing on this , the clamping forces exerted in the varying temperature ranges of use between general road car use and trackday use is what creates these issues. Discs are consumables, expensive ones but nevertheless consumable and need changing frequently , the bigger they are the more expensive sadly .

Powervane rotors (which were the ones Compbrake supply) are made of crap metal. On my friend's Cossie kit, using DS2500s as he normally did with his AP bells and calipers, they warped and hotspotted something cronic. Skimmed them and then used pads that I use all the time on the Evo - turned the discs into a load of metal filings that stuck to his polished wheels, and to the immaculate paint down the side of the car.
I had the same problem with their discs on my last Evo, using their "Hawk Blue" pads. Everytime I braked, you could see the sparks flying down the side of the car at night like some kind of comet / Catherine wheel

Took ages to sort the paintwork on my Evo.
And like said, the Evo brake kit I had has been back to Compbrake 3 times - split brake line that could have killed me, leaking pistons that fall out when you take the brake pads out (as if that's right
Still waiting a refund or complete replacement, and they've had them back over a year and a half. Probably 2 years now, they went back last time I was at RS Croft

I'll let you make your own mind up about them

Cheers Dave, yep Martin sorted out some AP discs and DS3000 pads for me after the Compbrake crap fooked up my good mates Cossie mentioned in the story above.

I need to meaure them, nut I suspect they were coming to the end of their life minimum thickness wise anyway.

I'll call on Tuesday Martin

On the MLR they suggested trying GGR of all places. Called them and they can do them for £420 the pair inc VAT. Much less than I feared they would be. Need to check PCD to see if the discs they use are the same as mine.
Would rather direct my money to one of the traders on here though if they can do cheap!! Was hoping someone had a tired old pair they could sell me cheap in the short term, as I don't think I can afford £420 this month
Same happened to my AP discs Si - Massive crack from bell to edge, was scary stuff! They were old and had been abused so i wasn't complaining on their life span...

Delivery if sorted by Tony is normally A1, aftersales if done by Compbrake is normally Z1 Billion, or whatever the opposite of A1 is

Tony deals with the Compbrake stuff I'm trying to avoid, but ta for the tip off

The smaller heat cracks I've seen on loads of AP discs, and lots of Evo OE Brembo discs that get used hard on track. Normally not a problem, just need to keep an eye on them. Big cracks like mine and Smit's are when the problems really start
I've copied and pasted a post I put up on the MLR with the same subject:
....thanks Paul, I've virtually settled on buying new AP discs from a trader I've used a few times from the Ford world, but I'd be keen to know prices for your discs anyway.
Sadly I've been burnt with an old 6 pot kit I had on my last Evo - used Powervane rotors via Compbrake and had problems with them, so a bit hesitant to use anything other than genuine AP now.
I think this post will prove useful for other people when they come to look for brake disc options. If you don't mind, can you post your prices on here? PFC have a good reputation on here, I'm sure other readers of this post in future would consider your kits without hesitation
For reference, GGR want £420 for a pair of 362mm * 32. Speak to Andy from there, he's very helpful.
Touring Car Spares gave me a very very good price which was a genuine bargain. Tony Ryan is the man to speak to and is a very nice bloke to deal with.
Reyland Motorsport is the company I'm going to use, and he's getting the discs for a tad more than TCS, but he's been so helpful to me over the years that he's getting my business despite being slightly dearer. Customer loyalty in exchange for decent service. Martin Hadland is the gent to speak to there
Thanks everyone who's posted or PM'ed

Can anyone tell me what floating discs are all about? And whether they'd be worth going for in my application?
But over time, both the floater bobbins and disc itself do wear....and they can rattle a bit. Or a lot.
My car is pretty noisy, and at times the rattle annoys me ! Mostly on slower roads with the window open mind.
I was considering some of the second hand discs Tony has for sale. But after speaking with the people who supplied my brakes, I think its maybe not tbe best route to take.
He has some 332x32 discs, but I'd need new bells made, and pad swept area is different too.
I'd probably just be better off buying new discs.
