Looks nasty Smit, not good when they go, especially when using the car hard!

i have heard about the cracking and warping from the AP discs too.

do most people use the AP discs?
Hi Dave,

The smaller heat cracks I've seen on loads of AP discs, and lots of Evo OE Brembo discs that get used hard on track. Normally not a problem, just need to keep an eye on them. Big cracks like mine and Smit's are when the problems really start Mine had small hairline cracks since I bought the car, but has done loads of track days and 2 Ring trips without breaking. Till now!

Ain't that the truth! My AP kit with genuine discs and Carbotech XP10 pads has been frankly awesome, but the bills to keep the brakes A1 are a tad scary! The pads are £220 odd. So worth it when hammering around at speeds over 160 mph on the Ring

I've copied and pasted a post I put up on the MLR with the same subject:

....thanks Paul, I've virtually settled on buying new AP discs from a trader I've used a few times from the Ford world, but I'd be keen to know prices for your discs anyway.

Sadly I've been burnt with an old 6 pot kit I had on my last Evo - used Powervane rotors via Compbrake and had problems with them, so a bit hesitant to use anything other than genuine AP now.

I think this post will prove useful for other people when they come to look for brake disc options. If you don't mind, can you post your prices on here? PFC have a good reputation on here, I'm sure other readers of this post in future would consider your kits without hesitation

For reference, GGR want £420 for a pair of 362mm * 32. Speak to Andy from there, he's very helpful.

Touring Car Spares gave me a very very good price which was a genuine bargain. Tony Ryan is the man to speak to and is a very nice bloke to deal with.

Reyland Motorsport is the company I'm going to use, and he's getting the discs for a tad more than TCS, but he's been so helpful to me over the years that he's getting my business despite being slightly dearer. Customer loyalty in exchange for decent service. Martin Hadland is the gent to speak to there

Thanks everyone who's posted or PM'ed

Si
