Exclamation Results are in!!

Literally just got through the door so here they are.........

231.0 bhp @ Fly

193.4 bhp @ Wheels

Very very happy with that!

You tube Vid... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmZNeThwFLE

Just a point to notice, the MAP graph is far laggier than it is when driving it out on the road, Christian said this is often the case but just thought i'd point it out.

My full spec to make this power....
1600cc CVH
NMS Ported head standard valve sizes
Newmans Cam/Lifters
Turbo Technics Stage 2 T3 .36/55
Radtec full front mount Intercooler
Siemens Deka IV 630cc Injectors
Megasquirt 2 Extra EFi Management
Apexi AVC-R Boost controller

I have to say that whilst I wanted to find something to criticise on Karl's car, I couldn't really. Well, except that it's an RS Turbo.

The fuelling curve is pretty damn good.

Just one point that Karl picked up on, regarding the perceived response. The dyno does tend to make the car appear a little laggier than on the road, but this is even further accentuated in Shoot_4F. I think that the difference in response isn't as bad as you might think, it's more a case of the difference between how you perceive the response on the road, accuracy of the cars tacho and so on, against actually seeing it on paper.

Overall Karl, it's a good car and a great benchmark for a Stage 2 conversion on EFi.

Nice torque and power curves. Should be an absolute hoot on the road to drive I imagine, I've always thought 200-220bhp is a nice amount of power. Hope after all the disappointment fingers crossed that this is it and you will have many many miles of uneventful fun!

Just watched your video mate, some kind of angry chipmunk appears to have made a home under the bonnet.

Congratulations on the result mate! you wouldn't consider running more boost?

Thanks! lol
At the very most I peek at 26psi and hold about 23psi, but Christians Dyno was showing a peek of about 24psi and holding 21psi today, dont know if todays high ambient temps would have had an effect?

Rob,
LMAO @ Angry Chipmonk!!
I would but the Stage 2 T3 physically cannot do any more! I can create a bigger boost spike but it always drops like a stone back to around 20-23psi, turbo technics say that it will only do 220bhp so i've already squeezed a bit more than that

S152 Ford Escort RS Turbo Stage 2
Power output 160-220 BHP
Boost 10-23 PSI
7° cutback T3 turbine assembly
360° screwed thrust bearing

well done now all you need is a couple of runs down the strip to see what a 230 car does then we've all got a bench mark especially as it's only a cheapo box that you don't mind breaking and if you did i'd loan you one of my spare turbo boxes

Already i'm thinking GT28R and 270-280bhp
But I should just leave it, find a good gearbox, and be happy!

Just been looking around to see what else has been achieved with a similair spec to me, mostly people with Stage 2 T3's to compare and found a few posts all from Christian coincidentally.....

D4nny8oy on here has approximately the same spec as you, but with a Newman solid lifter cam and VEMS management and that makes 225bhp, but I mean a proper 225bhp (measured on an accurate Dyno). From memory, its around 190bhp at the wheels. It's running moderate boost and I strongly believe it's limiting factor is the exhaust housing.
*Karlos blows his own trumpet* lol

Also some epic PF slagging match posts too.........

Not being funny or anything but a little rumour along the grapevine is your mappin cant be that good if your engine goes bang at 2 bar ( even though you run 2.4 bar to get 351bhp but dont tell anyone that)

detin like fuck and melting the head

So id rather know what id go for with gotech as its mapped by people that really dont go for big boost and more realiabilty.

( Apart from stu's who generally does not give a fuck anyways as he is after 2.5 bar )

Like the two zvh's that have made over 300bhp at 1 bar of boost so you tell me where going wrong?

Show me the det on that head. Come on, fucking show me!! THERE IS NONE.

We ran it to 2.4 bar on the Dyno and it made no more power than it did at 2-bar, so that's where it stayed.

You can't compare 2 different methods to each other when you don't know the details. So, come on then, where do your little rumours come from?

It's wankers like you who bleat out without knowing the facts. What the fuck do you know about mapping? Infact what does ANYONE know about mapping a 350bhp 1600CVH?? It's all a learning curve for all of us, but this engine DIDN'T fail due to the mapping. Ask someone that knows about engine's.

Whether the head failed due to a weakness in the head or the gasket failed is irrelevant. For you to blame the map is just a total guess. Poor mapping would have resulted in Det, you have the pics above, show me the Det, or is it as I suspect that you don't even know what Det looks like??
Even Stu gets involved! lol

Sadly, the way you are talking on this topics makes it "Sound" like Jamie or his staff told you, and thats a shame for a guy just trying to earn a living and his customers start causing him trouble with internet insinuations, so i would be apologising to him as well if i were you.

Yeah, that was a great introduction to the world of Passionford.

Glad you got on ok Karlos, 220+ bhp with an XR3i box gets pretty lively on a motorway when it decides to change lanes as the turbo spools-up, doesn't it? LOL.
