Default Standard to 200 bhp.

Right so i'm picking up my white RS turbo on the weekend. its pretty much standard engine, just a pipe, chipped, dumpvalve etc... Was just wondering how to get it to about 200 bhp, what mods would i need? including brakes and suspension etc! and how much would it cost? its lowered suspension too and front brakes are drilled and grooved. Boosting around 12 psi i think. thanks.

Get it to a tuner first mate and get them to give it the once over! No point in spending big money on a knackered engine - not saying that your is but I've list count of many times I've seen people whack a chip, exhaust and a filter and turn up the boost without no regard for fueling etc.

Stage 2 t3 turbo. Good exhaust. front mount intercooler. Ajustible pully.-31 actuator And some1 good at mapping.

I have all that apart from the stage 2 turbo and I got 186 bhp last time on the rollers.

Alright guys, thanks. Havn't even got it yet, put deposit dwn last night and picking it up this weekend. Ive put it on my avatar for you guys to see. If i was to put a stage 2 t3 on, a good exhaust, FMIC, ajustible pully -31 actuator and get it remapped would i not need the standard internals upgraded?

@conor.rst - i don't know mate, don't realy wana go that far tbh, but if its not safe at 200 bhp on mfi then maybe..

@joker disco .. yeah i'm gunna take it to a rolling road in the next few weeeks and get everything checked out buddy

thanks guys

standard turbo is good for at least 200bhp, chipped ecu, fmic, exhaust. 16psi should see not far of 200bhp in my opinion. oh and a setup id reccomend karl norris at nms.

There's some 'interesting' advice in this thread! lol

No you cannot remap an MFI RS turbo, and no a standard turbo will not do 200bhp.

Stock internals will be fine mate, all you need as someone else said is a Stage 2 T3, chip, front mount intercooler, filter, and exhaust, assuming the old MFI can provide enough fuel of course!

my xr2 made over 200 bhp on a standard t3. But if you are looking to run that sort of power on a rst id start looking at a uprated clutch.

Koni adjustables, cobra lowering springs, cossie front discs etc, decent chip bayjoo, turbosystems, evo chip etc, -31 actuator, stock internals will be fine stage 2 hybrid turbo, radtech or grs front mount intercooler, original airbox with k&n panel filter modded for extra airflow, mongoose exhaust, then a decent set up at nms or jamsport is the way forward m8

IME they cannot flow enough, 190bhp tops and thats on a freshly built engine.
But to be fair Dyno's can and do vary by as much as 50bhp so who really knows what they can flow for?! lol

I would probably opt for another cam as well, a) the cam it has is probably knackered and b) you just need one lol and i would go for a stage 2 turbo (effectively a 2wd cossy t3) like karlos said, even if you make 200 brake on a stage 1 it will be far easier on a stage 2 (with lower MAT's too).

The man talks sense.
I've seen a stick S2 with basically a chip, zorst and filter make 170ish bhp on a dyno with a std i/c - I've seen that same car tip 200 bhp on another! I know which one I reckons genuine!

I think a genuine 200bhp is feasible but no easily achievable on mfi and not cost effective too. Go EFI, there's many good systems out there these days for good money!

k mate, gunna get a quote tomorrow on getting the buckle out (as it may be different around my neck of the woods). did you say you wanted 450 for them? Also, i'm sure i read somewhere that you need longer bolts for fitting these diamond cut wheels to an S2? is this true? if so, are they included in the sale? Can u recommend a good alarm too, don't wana spend over 500 on an alarm really, need insurance money

am not sure on the bolts mate as i got the wheels with the car and need them for my others. people say standard airbox is best but with cut outs to aid flow. toad and clifford are good alarms.
