Just use a standard cork one mate - the rubber ones are not good for the RS and were not really made for it either so dont really fit properly so leak etc etc and also heard the odd horror stories about them as well.
As for costs definately go to local motor factors - i got one for mine last weekend for £4.28 !!
The rubber ones are great, they fit perfect with or without coilpack or even cam sensor setups like i fit, they can be cleaned easy in hot water with some soap and reused loads of times.
If using a cork one you must make sure that it has the metal inserts to stop you from doing them up too tight. Also you cant re use them if they have been on for a while.
The cork with metal inserts (Genuine Ford) can be torqued up properly where as the rubber ones will squish out (like our sumps) and the bolts can work loose.

Depends who you buy the gasket from as they should all have metal inserts.
If they squish open its down to who ever done them up as even a rocker cover has set values to tighten too. Read a manual and its explains a set order to do them up in and a set pressure.
I've never seen a pattern part gasket with the metal inserts, and we alll know if like our sumps you do not loctite the bolts 8ft/lb of torque (or whatever it is) will not stay done up.
IMO genuine gasket (or any one with the metal inserts) and a dab of loctite will ensure a good seal the bolts staying done up
I've always got on with the genuine ford item with metal inserts- tryed a cheapo pattern cork item and it was useless.
never tryed the rubber type as the ford item always sealed up great.
