how to quiet lifters?

as above .is there some kind of adertive i can put in with out harming the engine?

for the tappets i take it, think that oncethere done then its a new set im afraid,
ebay new standard cam and lifters for around 80 not the best quality but would do for now

if there hydraulic lifters and their tappy, then its time for a new set.

if thier solids then they will be needing a reshim

had the same problem on mine with noisy tappets..i changed to fully synthetic oil and they are almost silent..wont neccesaraly work for you but thought i would mention

they were bit noisy then changed oil and they got more noisy
