Default WHeel bolt size!

I noticed today that my Mondeo alloys are barely being held on by the wheel bolts (could almost pull through the holes in the wheels)!
I also realised that most Ford bolts are 19mm and my bolts are only 17mm, so I'm thinking the flanged part of the bolt will be bigger with 19mm and so fit the wheel better.

Has anyone else noticed that Mondeo wheels dont fit the bolts well, or is it just because my heads are 17mm and not 19mm?
The thread is obviously correct though

Cheers!

The bolts you need, AFAIK, are what I know as a 'Ford Ghia' bolt. Like these.....

They are more abundantly available as a nut though.
