Depends on all sorts of variables like oil pressure, wear etc etc, a good estimate I would say is between 200 - 250 but tbh I dont really know. When I first built my fiesta the first time round it was with all standard internals and that was producing 200bhp @ 1bar. Never missed a beat.

Why do you ask?

The rods are the weak point, Cranks is good for 350bhp+, Pistons 300bhp, but the rods (or rod bolts) have been known to let go as low as 190bhp depending on how it's driven, lots of high revs for example will throw one sooner rather then later.

Performance ford staff car had 252bhp on std rods iirc. Jamsport did the work and maintained it.

i await to be corrected

Interesting, so a set of ARP bolts for the rods (might as well do crank too while you're there) and you've got an engine that safely take 250ish bhp!

Plenty of people run stock rods for well over 200bhp and are fine, I was just pointing out that is the weak point and how low they have been known to go.

Yes pretty much, again it's a bit of pot luck with the rods themselves too, I supose it depends on how well they were cast, how many imperfections etc..

250bhp max with arp rod bolts, though as said it's not ideal as you can't be 100% sure how long it will last.....1bar of boost like you're planning on running should be fine as long as the engine has been built/mapped properly, i would have used arp rod bolts at least though.

We've told you what to do (it will be fine at a bar of boost) but you're obviously not listening to anyone on here so probably best to phone a tuner and see what they suggest

trust what others have said here mate. a standard bottom end without arp rod bolts and running around 250bhp is a ticking time bomb. arp rod bolts are the absolute minimum.

Well if you can't trust a tuner who can you trust lol..Passionford

I personally would'nt risk running that power on standard bottom anyway.Never push it to the limit.Just asking for trouble.Ill be running around 210 / 220bhp max on standard bottom end this summer. Then forge her up.You think that safe enough?
