If two people are the same weight, same size and running at the same speed... but one is super fit and his heart rate bearly rises above 110bps, the unfit persons heart beat is at 180bps and they run for the same amount of time, who burns the most calories? is there a difference, and why?
This could be a simple answer that I'm missing, but someone asked me and I wasn't sure on the correct answer. Just that if someone is unfit, then doing exercise is likely to make more of an effect on them than someone who is extremely fit, therefore (possibly incorrectly) they will burn more calories??
Cheers,
Grant

From: either at work or on way :)
it affects the two in different ways mate the unfit person will burn slightly more than the fit person due to more work load on the organs such as lungs...ect and there breathing patterns will be different hence there heart rate being dramaticaly different.
Unfit person will burn more calories extra load being put on the body and muscle groups working harder to shift unfit person hence requiring more calories to run at the same level as a fit person. Muscles will need more energy for the same power output basically. This is down to body conditioning something which I am looking at now a lot more in depth.
